Afro Soul and Poetry are at the heart of HERITAGE CONCERT, the 90-minute presentation that will take place on 11 September at the Alexander Bar's Upstairs Theatre.

HERITAGE CONCERT is an afternoon of celebrating African culture through music and poetry. Three venerated artists, Shamie, Haroldene and Marcé Underwood will combine their talents for a unique fusion of styles and melodies.

Shamie is an Afro-soul artist and songwriter who has toured through Europe , Zimbabwe and South Africa. Haroldene is a performance poet and author. She has toured extensively through Zimbabwe , Europe and South Africa. She created and manages her company, Lounge of Poetry, a project that assists new writers with publishing their work. Shamie and Haroldene have both been nominated for several awards, have shared the stage with the legendary Oliver Mutukudi and are backed by the AfricentiQ band.

Marcé Underwood graduated from The South African College of Music at the end of 2015. She is considerably accomplished as a pianist, composer, singer and poet and has been performing in and around Cape Town since starting her musical career. In the last few weeks, she has been exceptionally well received on this year's South African Idols.

HERITAGE CONCERT takes place on 11 September at 16:00. Tickets cost R70-R80 and can be booked online or at the bar, anytime during its regular opening hours.
