RSG and Lefra Productions's fourth Oppiwater Arts Festival take place next year from April 30 to May 5 aboard the luxurious MSC Sinfonia. The OPPIWATER ARTS is a unique festival with more than 20 different productions that each play a few performances in the various theatres and venues on the MSC Sinfonia.

The 2017 Oppiwater Arts Festival departs from Cape Town and visits Namibia's beautiful Luderitz and Walvis Bay. RSG and Lefra Productions have announced the festival programme, with festival-goers able to attend the following wonderful productions: AS DROME VLERKE KRY with Hennie Smit and Arina De Witt, BLOU-BLOU with Erik Holm, BONJOUR MONSIEUR BREL with Jannie du Toit, Susan Mouton and Coenraad Rall, CHRISTO EN COBUS with Christo Snyman and Cobus Snyman, DIE EGGO VAN JOU OË with Jannie du Toit, DIE JALOERSBOKKIES with Jawaaiher Pietersen, Nedine Blom and Ashur Pietersen, DIE WYN, DIE VROU, DIE LIED with Johan Rademan, Christo Snyman and Hennie Retief with a full wine-tasting by Van Loveren Wines, Dalene Matthee's FIELA SE KIND adapted by Suzanne van Wijk en directed by Frans Swart, KOM KOOK MET MARTELIZE with Martelize Brink, MY PASSIE VIR JESUS with John Jacobs, OOMS with Tobie Cronjé and Gerben Kamper, OP DIE EERSTE EEN with Pieter Smith; REFENTSE with Refentse Morake, an RSG radio drama with Johan Rademan as director, SOEN MY, DRUK MY with Alwyn Oberholster and STOUT (BAIE STOUT) MET DERRICH with Derrich Gardner. Various artists will also form part of the party that takes place when the MSC Sinfonia takes sail, the Oppiwater blast, RSG's direct foreign broadcasts from the deck and "meet the artists" sessions.

Magdalena Kruger, the station manager of RSG, says she is excited about the Oppiwater Arts Festival, saying that the station has always been a trendsetter and that the festival offers a one-of-a-kind cruise for the station's listeners. Kruger feels that the Oppiwater Arts Festival speaks volumes of the station's well-known support of the arts.

Frans Swart, the managing director of Lefra Productions, says that although the five-day Oppiwater Arts Festival represents a big challenge for Lefra and RSG, it is a very nice one, with much fun to be had as the Oppiwater guests enjoy the festival, discussing the productions they have seen, drinking cocktails on the deck and enjoying five-course meals in the restaurant before they run to catch their next show.
