Fleur du Cap Nominee Klara van Wyk Returns to the Alexander Bar with YOU SUCK (AND OTHER INESCAPABLE TRUTHS)

YOU SUCK (AND OTHER INESCAPABLE TRUTHS) - for which its performer, Klara van Wyk picked up a Fleur du Cap Theatre Award nomination for Best Performance in a Revue, Cabaret or One-Person Show - will return to the Alexander Bar and Café's Upstairs Theatre this May. Written by Van Wyk herself, the 50-minute comedy is directed by Francesco Nassimbeni and features costume design by Richard De Jager.

Describing herself as a new-wave clown and comedienne, Van Wyk will once again don the mantle of Prettina to engage with growing up in all its complexity. Part 'dear diary' and part sarcastic teen commentary, YOU SUCK (AND OTHER INESCAPABLE TRUTHS) is a curious concoction of day dreaming, conspiracy theorizing and confessional monologues that catapults audiences straight into that grimy high-school gym classes and offers some excellent tips on how to hashtag like a celeb, defeat mean girls and twerk your way through teenage angst.

YOU SUCK (AND OTHER INESCAPABLE TRUTHS) will run from 2 - 4 and 9 - 12 May, with performances taking place at 21:00 on those nights.
