From the creative team that brought you PAY BACK THE CURRY, comes another satirical, multi-sketch sequel about life in contemporary South Africa, STATE FRACTURE.
Written by Mike van Graan, whose work on PAY BACK THE CURRY earned him a Naledi Theatre Awards nomination for Best Script, STATE FRACTURE is directed by directed by Rob Van Vuuren and produced by Siv Ngesi.
With a country that keeps on giving, audiences should be prepared to laugh, think and be blown away by the performance of Daniel Mpilo Richards, who won the Naledi Theatre Award for Best Breakthrough Performer for PAY BACK THE CURRY, having also been nominated for Best Performance In A Revue, Cabaret Or One-Person Show for the same show at the Fleur du Cap Theatre Awards.
Richards also won a special Standard Bank Ovation Award at the National Arts Festival for Stand Out Performance for his depiction of the variety of characters and caricatures he plays in the show, while the show itself, which comments on all things in contemporary South Africa from Spur and statues to Zuptas and Xenophobia, won a Silver Standard Bank Ovation Award.
STATE FRACTURE runs at the Baxter Theatre from 31 July - 19 August. Tickets are available from Computicket, with prices ranging from R95 -R110. Concession prices are available for students, pensioners and block bookings of ten or more people.
