Afrikaans music superstar, Juanita du Plessis, who just released a double country album, NASHVILLE, was one of the top attractions at this year's COUNTRY LEGENDS AND FRIENDS concert, which took place at Carnival City's Big Top Arena last Saturday. Du Plessis appeared alongside country music legends like Lance James, Barbara Ray, Clive Bruce, Sally Vaughn, Tommy Dell and Jody Wayne as well as Jason Bradley, Chantell Williams and the Rodeo Girls.
On her appearance in COUNTRY LEGENDS AND FRIENDS, Du Plessis said, "I'm so fortunate to have appeared with country legends like Lance James and Barbara Ray and the others and I am so grateful that they invited me, especially now that I've released this country album. These singers were my heroes as a young girl and as a young artist. They have had so many hits over the years that they are great heroes to me today."
Since the beginning of her career, Du Plessis has always dreamed of recording a country album. "I'm so in love with country music," she said. "And my next dream was to record my album in the country capital of the world, Nashville. This year my dream came true. I could record this album in Nashville - it's a double album, because there were just too many good country songs that I wanted to record and we have decided to name the album NASHVILLE."
Du Plessis worked on the album in both Nashville and South Africa for the past year. She has worked with the best musicians and producers in Nashville, including Shania Twain, Faith Hill, and Alan Jackson. The double album consists of 32 of the most famous country songs like "On the Road Again", "Down the Mississippi", "Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain" and "Wasted Days and Wasted Nights". There is even an Elvis medley on the album.
With COUNTRY LEGENDS AND FRIENDS 2014, Lefra Productions once again put South Africa's most popular country music talent on show. The concert took place at Carnival Ciy's Big Top Arena.Videos
