The Masque Theatre has announced that Christine and The Kilts' are back by popular demand, and will once again bring a feast of Celtic songs to the Cape this festive season.
Irish jigs, Scottish reels, contemporary Celtic favourites, and songs by Robbie Burns, 'Christine and The Kilts' boasts a toe-tapping repertoire that will inspire and delight Celtic music lovers. "It's been a long time since I found myself totally immersed in a feast of Celtic songs!" ( Peter Feldman, Artslink).
Soaring harmonies are a 'given' with singer Christine Weir of 'Not the Midnight Mass' fame at the helm of this show, and with the nimble fiddle playing by Rayelle Goodman, traditional Celtic accordion by Leon Oosthuizen , Matthew Weir on bass and vocals, Duncan Robinson on acoustic guitar, Skhumbuzo Qamata on percussion, this is an evening of Celtic song at its best. Some nifty Staging by choreographer, Fiona du Plooy.
Get into the festive spirit with us ....put on your Kilt, strut your tartan and join in with hits like Whiskey in the Jar, Mull of Kintyre, Charlie is my Darling and Danny Boy, in a 'guid' foot stomping evening of Irish and Scottish song.
