Celebrate Junkets Publishers' 10th Anniversary and Help Publish a Playscript

Junkets Publisher is celebrating its tenth anniversary with a brand new initiative that allows theatre lovers to help bring more brand new South African plays from the stage to the page.

A couple of years ago, Junkets published a highly successful series of five new plays by new emerging playwrights. The "New Voices" series included Sinethemba Twani's THE BENEFICIARY, Anele Rusi's ISYSTEM, Christo Davids and Jody J Abrahams's BULLETS OVER BISHOP LAVIS, Philip Rademeyer's THE VIEW and Khayelihle Dom Gumede's CREPUSCULE.

With a number of new plays waiting to be published and no funding for them to be printed, Junkets has come up with a plan that can see these play texts appear on bookshelves around the country, in public libraries and in schools. Options include sponsoring a playscript for R8 000, jointly sponsoring a playscript with one other sponsor for R4 000 each or sponsoring pages of a playscript for R100 each. All sponsorships will be acknowledged on the imprint page of the books.
