Cat Simoni and Friends Come to Alexander Upstairs

After ten years playing and singing for the international crème de la crème at the Steinways of London's 5-star venues and exclusive clubs, Cat Simoni is back home and delighted to be entertaining Cape Town audiences on Sunday nights in the intimate setting of the Alexander Bar. She'll be joined by different friends each gig, this week starting with the multi-talented songwriter and voice artist Alan Glass.

Note that this event takes place in the bar area downstairs. There'll be two sets with a short break starting at 20h30 and ending at 22h30.

Cat is equally at ease playing and singing Andrew Lloyd Webber show-songs, Ella Fitzgerald jazz standards, the Diana Krall/Rod Stewart-style American Songbook, rock classics from Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and The Eagles, number one hits from Freddie Mercury, Billy Joel, Celine Dion and Barbra Streisand - on piano, saxophone and guitar. Cat sings in at least 8 languages. In concert or cabaret, vivacious, mercurial Cat is the full music package.

Alan's career began writing and performing with the acclaimed accapella cabaret group Not the Midnight Mass in 1988. Together with Ed Jordan and Paul Choritz he created the highly successful children's music series Beautiful Creatures. Apart from his singing voice, he is also known for numerous TV and radio voice-overs, and for several years was a resident voice artist on KTV and M-NET, He now runs his production and event companies Alan Glass Production and Fried Glass.
