Day 1 - The Long Flight to South Africa
Monday January 11, 2010

We leave for South Africa today! There are 11 BSA artists going on the trip. We all leave from JFK tonight but are on three separate airlines--South African Airways, Delta, and Virgin Atlantic--and will meet up again in Johannesburg on Wednesday morning. They're all indirect flights so some of us will have layovers in Paris and London for a few hours. As fancy as that sounds, we just want to get to South Africa already! Hoping airport security isn't too crazy. But the weather is gorgeous in New York so it's a perfect day to get on a plane. Next entry will probably be from London...

Broadway in South Africa is a cooperative nonprofit venture created by professional working actors, dancers, signers, directors, musicians and producers from New York City - all brought together by the desire to affect change in the world through art, and learn from the potential of bridging two different cultures artistically.
