Gaëtan Schmid returns to the Alexander Bar's Upstairs Theatre with THE MATING GAME. Written and performed by Schmid under the direction of Lara Bye, the 55-minute comedy's title has been streamlined from BODY LANGUAGE 2: THE MATING GAME, under which moniker it was presented last year.
THE MATING GAME is based on the premise that everything that people think and do has one sole purpose in mind: mating, getting laid - sex. While it may not be socially admissible or acceptable, procreation is the ultimate goal and this is revealed by our bodies. Everybody's body language sneakily reveals their very naughty minds.
Over the last 25 years, Gaëtan Schmid has become obsessed with understanding body language, from the signification of gestures to the signs and signals of posture. What is their origin? What is their initial spark? From the breath we hold when passing a stunning creature to our little pinkie we raise when drinking champagne, every slightest movement has a specific raison d'être. Embark with him on the discovery of the hidden secrets of body language in THE MATING GAME, which promises to be a witty, funny and revelatory journey spanning from the massive explosion of the Big Bang to the microscopic neurons flashing in our brains.
Sound editing for the show is by James Webb.
