With sales at this year's Aardklop Arts Festival in Potchefstroom this October growing from strength to strength, Aardklop recently announced that an extra venue has been created that will bring five extra top productions to the festival, offering festivalgoers an even wider range of productions to enjoy. The old Potchefstroom City Hall, on the corner of Walter Sisulu and Govan Mbeki Streets, will be included in the festival's roster of venues.
The extra productions that will be housed the new venue include FIELA SE KIND on 3 - 6 October, MY MAN SE SKELMPIE SE SKELMPIE SE VROU on 6 and 7 October, AS DROME VLERKE KRY on 4 and 5 October, ONTBLOOT on 7 October and MY PA on 4 and 5 October. Frans Swart, the managing director of Lefra Productions, under whose banner the productions are presented, says that Lefra is privileged to bring these shows to the festival:
Our productions have been playing to full houses at Aardklop for the past eighteen years. That's why it's so nice to be back at Aardklop with our own venue this year. Since Lefra has assembled its own equipment over the years, it is only a privilege for us to make a transform the old City Hall into a theatre. We also believe that productions like FIELA SE KIND, MY MAN SE SKELMPIE SE SKELMPIE SE VROU and our other productions will add a lot of value to Aarklop. FIELA'S SE KIND and SKELMPIE have sold out all over the country and are truly hit productions. That's why we are very excited and grateful that we can bring these productions Aardklop.
The five Lefra productions are not listed in the printed programme, but tickets are on sale online via Computicket or by phone in 0861 915 8000. Groups of more than ten can obtain discounts by booking through Monica on 011 815 3000.
