Pieter Toerien's Montecasino Theatre is offering a first look at Abrahamse & Meyer's MACBETH, which is currently on tour in Romania and is scheduled to play South Africa in August.
After the sensational success of HAMLET in 2017, MACBETH promised to be a dazzling take on William Shakespeare's shortest, darkest and most thrilling tragedy. This production comes to Johannesburg hot on the heels of its European debut at the world's largest and most prestigious International Shakespeare Festival.
Don't miss the opportunity to see this innovative re-imagining of one of the greatest plays ever written.
The production features direction, set and lighting design by Fred Abrahamse, costume design by Marcel Meyer, illusions by Matthew Baldwin and a soundscape by Charl-Johan Lingenfelder. Abrahamse and Meyer have also collaborated on the puppet design and creation. In addition to his creative portfolios, Meyer leads the all-male cast, which also includes Stephen Jubber, Matthew Baldwin, Jeremy Richard, Tailyn Ramsamy and Tristan de Beer.
The two-hour production runs from Wednesdays to Saturdays, with tickets costing R100 - R180. Bookings are through Computicket.
