This touring exhibit features works by 22 South Dakota artists in a range of media, including painting, sculpture, printmaking and mixed media. The exhibition also includes "Deep Photography," which chronicles the transformation of the Homestake Mine into the Sanford Underground Research Facility. This segment features photography by Steve Babbitt, professor of photography at Black Hills State University, and Matt Kapust, multimedia specialist at Sanford Lab. The Washington Pavilion is partnering with Sanford Research, as part of their Sanford Promise Program.
According to Ginger Niemann, Program Officer of the South Dakota Community Foundation, "This exhibit is a great example of how arts and science can work together." "The South Dakota Community Foundation is pleased to be a partner on this important project," Niemann said.
