The Washington Pavilion announces hilarious comedy entertainment with the Belbas Comedy Collection of three live comedies. The comedy shows include Late Nite Catechism, Men Are From Mars - Women Are From Venus Live! and Robert Dubac's The Book of Moron. Performances will be held in the Belbas Theater, an intimate performance space at the Washington Pavilion that brings the audience up close and personal with the performers.
Patrons can buy tickets to one, two or all three shows. Tickets go on sale starting June 13, 2018.
Director of The Husby Performing Arts Center, Regina Ruhberg states, "We are very excited to be launching this comedic programming in our intimate theatre. We strive to offer varied entertainment experiences for all our patrons and these three performances will be a unique new addition to our incredible 20th season!"
Late Nite Catechism comes to the Pavilion for three performances on August 24-25, 2018. The show is, an uproarious piece of theater that takes audience members back - sometimes nostalgically, to the children they once were. The irrepressible Sister teaches an adult catechism class to a roomful of "students" (the audience.) It has been presented in over 410 cities around the world, has played six countries with over 3.5 million people in attendance.
The Off-Broadway hit comedy Men Are From Mars - Women Are From Venus Live! comes to the Pavilion for three performances on October 12-13, 2018. It is a one-man fusion of theatre and stand-up, and is a light-hearted theatrical comedy based on the New York Times #1 best-selling book of the last decade by John Gray. Moving swiftly through a series of vignettes, the show covers everything from dating and marriage to the kitchen and the bedroom.
Robert Dubac's The Book of Moron makes its appearance at the Pavilion for three performances on February 1-2, 2019. The New York Times raves, "Riding shotgun with intelligence and absurdity, The Book of Moron crashes head first into the barriers of sex, race, religion, politics and the media...there's laughter for all!"
