Washington Pavilion Board of Trustees Chair, Michael Jerstad, announced today that Larry Toll, Co-President of the Pavilion will be stepping down from his leadership role by the end of 2015. Jerstad shared, "The Board of Trustees expresses appreciation and gratitude for all that has been accomplished for the Washington Pavilion during Larry Toll's tenure. His involvement in the community, coupled with the strategic partnerships that he has initiated and nurtured, will benefit the Washington Pavilion for years to come.

Jerstad asserts that "As we look forward to the next chapter of the Pavilion's story, we do so from a position of confidence. The Board of Trustees has had a succession planning committee for almost a year and in conjunction with Larry Toll's Co-President, Scott Petersen, we will continue to explore candidates and structures to insure that the Pavilion's activities can continue to provide the community and region with quality programming while at the same time preserving fiscal responsibility for city and donor dollars."

Toll wished to share that "I would like to express my gratitude to the entire community for supporting the Pavilion and generating an atmosphere of positive collaboration over the past 6 years. I have been honored to work with this outstanding and innovative staff. As well, I am grateful for the support that the Pavilion has received from the City of Sioux Falls, a relationship which is an exemplary public/private partnership. I'm confident that with Scott leadership combined with our dedicated Board, this transition will be smooth."

History: In December of 2009, the Board of Trustees at the Washington Pavilion asked him to take the interim position there and help stabilize the business until a permanent replacement could be found. The board decided to launch their search for a permanent president in April of 2010. Toll self-nominated and the Board approved.

A native of Dubuque, Iowa, Toll holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Iowa State University and a Master's Degree in Management from Pace University in New York City. Toll is active in the community and serves on a number of boards, including the Sioux Council of the Boy Scouts, the Sanford Foundation and Downtown Sioux Falls.
