The Washington Pavilion's Visual Arts Center is proud to announce its 56th annual Arts Night fundraiser scheduled for Saturday, April 29, 2017 in the Mary W. Sommervold Hall at the Washington Pavilion.

Arts Night is the premier arts gala event of the year with food, fine art and competitive bidding in support of the Visual Arts Center and its mission to bring art into our community through programs and curated exhibitions. Cocktail hour begins at 5 p.m. followed by dinner and the auction.

At the event, Rob Oliver will receive the 2017 Emeritus Award. A former board chair of the Civic Fine Arts Center and long-time supporter of the Sioux Falls Arts Community, Mr. Oliver is being recognized for his instrumental role in the establishment of the Visual Arts Center at the Washington Pavilion. The Emeritus Award is presented to award former Visual Arts Center or Civic Fine Arts board members who have a record of stellar support of the Visual Arts Center and the arts in Sioux Falls.

The 2017 Arts Night exhibition, REPRESENT, pays homage to the participating artists and community that have continually supported the Visual Arts Center over the years. This juried exhibition on display in the Visual Arts Center Everist Gallery through April 23, features diverse media and artists from near and far. Artwork and auction items can also be viewed and bid on at artsnight.gesture.com.

New this year: The WALL a series of small artworks hung on a single wall will be auctioned off as a part of an online auction.

"This wonderful event, including the proceeds that are raised throughout the evening, is designed to ensure the continued growth of our Visual Arts Center and ongoing partnerships in the arts for the betterment of our community," said Darrin Smith, Washington Pavilion President & CEO.

Tickets are $125 and include admission to the gala, gourmet dinner and auction; $65 of the ticket price is considered a tax-deductible gift. Tickets may be purchased by calling Katharine Hults at 605-731-2377.
