How I Became a Pirate auditions will be held at The Orpheum.
How I Became a Pirate is adapted by Janet Yates Vogt (Book, Lyrics, and Music) based on the book by Melinda Long.
Directed by Rose Ann Hoffland
A great adventure befalls young Jeremy Jacob when he comes face-to-face with Captain Braid Beard and his very real pirates. Finding himself swept aboard, Jeremy embarks on his journey encountering the pirate way of life – which is not all is as it seems. Fierce pirates can be emotional, piloting a ship is not always easy sailing and pirates don’t play soccer. Through his travels Jeremy learns that it is the simplest things in life that matter most. Vibrantly infectious songs will take audiences of all ages on trip to find one’s own direction… the true compass being one’s own heart.
