The Dakota Academy of Performing Arts (DAPA) at the Washington Pavilion is excited to present SEUSSICAL JR. November 9-12 in the Belbas Theater.

Horton the Elephant, the Cat in the Hat and all of your favorite Dr. Seuss characters spring to life onstage in this fantastical musical extravaganza from Tony-Award winners, Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty. Come enjoy this entertaining performance with a heart-warming message about friendship, loyalty, family and community.

?This community youth production features 63 local young people ranging in ages 7-18. The young talent hailing from 19 different schools in the region have been working on the show since mid-September.

This is the first of four shows in the DAPA Youth Theatre season, and the public can still purchase season passes to see all four performances.

Molly Wilson, the director of the performances, explains, "This group of young actors has worked so hard to make this show come alive with their incredible talent. Watching all of the pieces come together has been very impressive. The show is colorful and entertaining and simply magnificent!"

DAPA Program Coordinator Robert Wendland agrees, "The show's message of acceptance and believing in yourself is so powerful. It's really inspiring to watch such a large group of young people tackle the difficult choreography and music and create a really energized piece of theatre!"

Tickets are $15 for adults (12+) and $12 for youth general admission, and are available at 605-367-6000, www.washingtonpavilion.org or at the Belbas Theater Box Office the day of the show.
