Local youth will have the opportunity to perform in four musicals produced by the Dakota Academy of Performing Arts (DAPA) at the Washington Pavilion. Area youth ages 6-18 will have the opportunity to audition to be a part of these shows September 11-12 and January 8-9.

DAPA will be producing SEUSSICAL, JR November 9-12, the regional premiere of A CHRISTMAS STORY December 14-17, A YEAR WITH FROG AND TOAD March 22-25 and SINGIN' IN THE RAIN, JR May 3-6.

Season subscriptions are available now to the public for all four musicals at a 10% discount for $54 for adults and $36 for youth.

Bob Wendland, the DAPA Program Coordinator, states these productions "showcase the outstanding talent of the young performers in our community. DAPA students learn about the theatre process in its entirety resulting in high-quality, professional-level performances."

Ramsey Folkerts has performed in several DAPA productions. She comments, "DAPA puts on incredible shows with great directors to coach us. But it's much more than that to me, they teach respect and strong character and help young actors connect and make lasting friendships."

Season subscriptions are available at washingtonpavilion.org or by calling the Washington Pavilion Box Office at 605-367-6000.
