The Tony Award-winning musical CABARET is coming to the Washington Pavilion April 24-26. CABARET is the final show of the 2017-18 Pavilion Performance Series which included an all-Broadway lineup of six musicals.
Based on Roundabout Theatre Company's Tony Award-winning production, Sam Mendes ("Skyfall" and "American Beauty") and Rob Marshall'S (the films of "Into the Woods" and "Chicago") CABARET offers three performances in Sioux Falls.
Patrons will enjoy hearing some of the most memorable songs in theatre history, including "Cabaret," "Willkommen" and "Maybe This Time" from John Kander, Fred Ebb and Joe Masteroff's Tony Award-winning musical about following your heart while the world loses its way.
The musical is set in the infamous Kit Kat Klub, where the Emcee, Sally Bowles and a raucous ensemble take the stage nightly to tantalize the crowd - and to leave their troubles outside. But as life in pre-WWII Germany grows more and more uncertain, will the decadent allure of Berlin nightlife be enough to get them through their dangerous times?
Regina Ruhberg, Director of the Husby Performing Arts Center, recently shared, "CABARET is a spectacular conclusion to the 2017-18 Pavilion Performance season! The show is full of classic songs that many in our audience will recognize. It's a moving and poignant story with fantastic dancing and energetic music."
