Kulcha brings together three distinct Asian music cultures to create a new brand of world music. The sextet plays both original and traditional music featuring a variety of traditional Asian instruments such as the Chinese pipa????, Indian bansuri (???????), Indonesian angklung and Malay gambus against a contemporary soundscape. The audience will be encouraged to play with the band to create this new form of world music.
Where Worlds Meet will introduce students to traditional music through the use of traditional Asian instruments. This fusion world music will help students to understand music from various cultures and of various genres.
