Instrumental rock quintet In Each Hand A Cutlass (IEHAC) are back with their highly anticipated sophomore album entitled The Kraken. Recorded and produced by acclaimed American record producer Brad Wood (Smashing Pumpkins, Pete Yorn, Sunny Day Real Estate, Veruca Salt, Touché Amoré) and mastered by Grammy-nominated mastering engineer Emily Lazar (Foo Fighters, Haim, Sia), the record is an hour-long homage to the legendary creature of the deep, set on course by an epic 20-minute, three-part suite which forms the centrestage of the title track.
In pushing the envelope, IEHAC continues to borrow from a vast lexicon of music to create their own unique brand of evocative, cinematic compositions that are far more nuanced and layered than the generic descriptor "post-rock" often implies.
