Operation Mincemeat, the winner of the 2023 Olivier Award for Best New Musical, has been taking the Fortune Theatre - and the West End! - by storm with its incredible musical tale of the real-life Operation Mincemeat. Now in its second year, the show has had a cast change, with some new actors coming in and previous covers taking on the roles.

Following the success of the hit ne­­­w cast of the Oliver Award-winning Operation Mincemeat, selling over 300, 000 tickets, and a record-breaking fan attending in excess of 140 times, ATG has given the musical, originally slated for an eight-week run at the West End's Fortune Theatre, a tenth extension through 8th March 2025.

Just last month at the Olivier Awards, Operation Mincemeat took home the big prize for Best New Musical. Now, according to a recent post on the show's website, producers are eying a move to Broadway, but are asking the public to weigh in first...

Operation Mincemeat: A New Musical has extended its West End run for the seventh time until 22 September 2024.

Following dedicated fans of Operation Mincemeat: A New Musical successfully uncovering the missing pieces of MI5 secretary Hester May Murray Leggatt's life, a plaque in her honour is set to be unveiled at the Fortune Theatre on 11 December, six months after the show’s West End premiere.

From aspiring West End performers to those who want to gain more confidence in performing, Operation Mincemeat have partnered with ATG’s West End Creative Learning department to offer pre-show workshops to schools and community organisations who are booked to see the West End phenomenon

In 1943, MI5 secretary Hester Leggatt played a vital role in an operation to fool the Nazis, by writing fake love letters to be found on a corpse. Hester's own story remained a mystery until Operation Mincemeat inspired fans, known as mincefluencers, to #FindHester. Erin Edwards wrote to MI5, asking for confirmation that Hester had worked in the wartime security services. Here she tells BroadwayWorld about her own research and eventually receiving written confirmation from MI5 about Hester.
