The Broadway company of the Tony Award-winning, record-breaking hit musical Chicago, which recently celebrated its 21st anniversary, just welcomed legendary singer-songwriter Valerie Simpson making her Broadway debut in the role of 'Matron 'Mama' Morton' at the Ambassador Theatre (219 W. 49th St.). Joining Ms. Simpson is Chaz Lamar Shepherd (original Broadway production of The Color Purple; Dreamgirls national tour) as 'Billy Flynn.'

Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter, actress & TV sensation Kandi Burruss (Bravo's 'The Real Housewives of Atlanta') made her Broadway debut in the role of 'Matron 'Mama' Morton' in Chicago on January 15. Burruss will be in the cast for eight weeks only, through March 11, 2018, at the Ambassador Theatre (219 W. 49th St.).

CHICAGO THE MUSICAL celebrated its 21st Broadway anniversary with a special party Tuesday, December 5th at PHD Terrace at the Dream Midtown (210 West 55th Street between Broadway & 7th Avenue). Attendees included current cast members Todrick Hall, Charlotte d'Amboise, Leigh Zimmerman and more, plus alumni cast members including Paige Davis and more!

Just last night, the record-breaking hit musical Chicago celebrated composer John Kander's 90th birthday at the Ambassador Theatre. Mr Kander was in the house for the special night, which featured surprise appearances by Colman Domingo, Joel Grey, James Naughton, Bebe Neuwirth, Chita Rivera and Karen Ziemba.

Mel B has graced Times Square in a brand new billboard for CHICAGO! She will continue to spice up Broadway through February 19 at the Ambassador Theatre (219 W. 49th St., NYC).

Earlier this week, the company of CHICAGO took their act uptown, to Central Park. To celebrate the musical's 20th Anniversary, fans got to experience the razzle dazzle with a free concert at SummerStage in Central Park. The cast of Chicago, Broadway's longest running musical, is celebrating this production's twentieth birthday today! For this momentous day, the cast are taking to the streets, with a free concert at SummerStage in Central Park. Doors open at 7PM and the show begins at 8PM. We were lucky enough to catch up with some of the cast as they made their final preparations for today's show.

Takarazuka, Japan's famous all-female musical theater troupe, makes its first appearance in New York in over 25 years with Takarazuka CHICAGO at Lincoln Center Festival July 20-24 only at the David H. Koch Theater, running concurrently with the Tony Award-winning show, with a legendary book by Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse, music by John Kander, and lyrics by Fred Ebb, and now the number one longest-running American musical in Broadway history.    Just yesterday, the cast of Takarazuka CHICAGO was introduced to the cast of New York City's Broadway production by producers Fran and Berry Weissler. Broadway history has been made! For the first time ever, two Mexican-born actors are leading a Broadway musical. Latin superstars, and long-time friends, Bianca Marroquin and Jaime Camil will appear on stage opposite each other as 'Roxie Hart' and 'Billy Flynn' for 24 performances only through Sunday, July 31st  (when Mr. Camil ends his run).  Marroquin will continue in her role through Sunday, August 21st at the Ambassador Theatre (219 W. 49th St., NYC).
