On May 12th, 2008 Bernadette Peters hosted the launch party for her new book, 'Broadway Barks'. A long time advocate of pet adoption, Bernadette Peters and fellow actress Mary Tyler Moore started the organization Broadway Barks!

Nominations in 26 competitive categories for the American Theatre Wing's 62nd Annual Antoinette Perry 'Tony' Awards were announced today by Tony Award Winners Sara Ramirez and David Hyde Pierce at the Tony Award Nominations Announcement sponsored by IBM. The nominees were selected by an independent committee of 23 theatre professionals appointed by the Tony Awards Administration Committee. The 2008 Tony Awards are presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing.

They came from around the corner and as far away as London, Italy and New Zealand to pay tribute to a legend of film and stage and a good friend and neighbor, Roy Scheider.

'Inner Voices', three new works created by and starring some of the industry's brightest talents begins May 12th.

Signature Theatre Company announced that their world premiere production of EDWARD ALBEE'S OCCUPANT starring Mercedes Ruehl and Larry Bryggman sold out its initial 8-week run in three days, one month before performances are scheduled to begin. Directed by Pam MacKinnon, the limited engagement has been extended by popular demand one week from Sunday, June 29th to Sunday, July 6th.

Roust Theatre Company presents 20th Anniversary production of Lee Blessing's political thriller 'Two Rooms.'

The 2007-2008 Reprise Theatre Company season will end with 'Flora, the Red Menace,' John Kander and lyricist Fred Ebb's first Broadway musical. Eden Espinosa stars as Flora, opposite Manoel Felciano as Harry.

Over the weekend Broadway Kids Care performed at Family Day as part of the Tribeca Film Festival. They also had a booth at the festival where they collected money for UNICEF and Shots 4 Tots.
