CRUEL INTENTIONS: THE MUSICAL, the new stage adaptation of Roger Kumble's 1999 cult-hit film, just began its limited pop-up engagement at Le Poisson Rouge on Saturday night, February 11, and BroadwayWorld has a sizzling first look at the cast in action below!

Pat Ciamacco, the curmudgeon of glee and horror, is at it again. While it seems almost by chance, the artistic director of Blank Canvas selects the likes of OUR TOWN, TWELVE ANGRY MEN and OF MICE AND MEN. But most often Ciamacco digs up such scripts as THE WILD PARTY (a play about decadence and uninhibited sexual behavior), REEFER MADNESS (the 'truth' about using marijuana), BAT BOY THE MUSICAL (the tale of a large-eyed fanged human child), TRIASSIC PARQ THE MUSICAL (a songfest 65-million years in the making), DEBBIE DOES DALLAS (a stage version of the 1978 pornographic film), and TEXAS CHAINSAW MUSICAL (the story of a handsome serial killer and his overly affectionate momma, staged complete with a 'blood zone,' where members of the audience chose, if they desired, to be bathed in fake blood!)

LA MIRADA THEATRE FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS & McCOY RIGBY ENTERTAINMENT are delighted to present the second show of its 2016-2017 season:  Davis Gaines starring in the hilarious comedy LEND ME A TENOR, written by Ken Ludwig and directed by Art Manke.  LEND ME A TENOR will preview on Friday, October 21, 2016 (with a press opening on Saturday, October 22) and run through Sunday, November 13, 2016 at La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts, 14900 La Mirada Blvd in La Mirada.   

Jobsite continues the 2016-17 season with their third co-production with the Straz Center in the Jaeb Theater (Return to the Forbidden Planet, Silence! The Musical). Bay Area audiences are in for another just-in-time-for-Halloween treat with the Drama Desk Award-nominated LIZZIE, a killer rock musical that is taking the nation by storm. Tampa Repertory Theatre will produce Eugene O'Neill's landmark American drama THE ICEMAN COMETH at Studio 120 on the University of South Florida campus from June 16 to July 3.

SILENCE! The Musical (lyrics & music by Jon Kaplan & Al Kaplan and book by Hunter Bell) will be produced by Standing Room Only Productions at Obsidian Theater (www.obsidiantheater.org). With direction by Chris Patton, music direction by Eduardo Guzman, choreography by Eric Dano and assistant direction and stage management by Lauren Hainley, the production will run June 9 through June 25, 2016. Jobsite Theater offers up a sexy and smart classic in Jean Genet's unequivocally literate 1947 play THE MAIDS, playing April 29 - May 22, 2016 in the Shimberg Playhouse at the Straz Center where Jobsite is resident theater company. BroadwayWorld has a sneak peek at the cast in costume below!

The Old Globe opens its 2015-2016 Season with IN YOUR ARMS, a World Premiere dance-theatre musical featuring direction and choreography by Tony Award winner Christopher Gattelli (Newsies, Godspell, Lincoln Center Theater's The King and I and South Pacific) and original music by Tony Award winner Stephen Flaherty (Ragtime, Once on This Island; two-time Oscar nominee for Anastasia). Ghostlight Records recorded the Original Cast Album of the hit, headline-making Off-Broadway musical Clinton The Musical yesterday, Tuesday, May 19 for release later this year. The production has book, music and lyrics byPaul Hodge, book by Paul Hodge and Michael Hodge, and was directed and choreographed by Tony Award nominee Dan Knechtges with musical direction by James Dobinson and orchestrations by Neil Douglas Reilly. Clinton The Musical is produced by Kari Lynn Hearn of CoolChic Productions, and Executive Produced by Ken Davenport. The recording will be produced by Dean Sharenow.
