Tony Winner Lin-Manuel Miranda played his final performance as 'Usnavi' in his acclaimed Broadway hit, IN THE HEIGHTS on Sunday, February 15th, 2009 at 7pm. BroadwayWorld's cameras cheered on his final Broadway bow and he bid his show farewell.

Kevin McCollum, Jeffrey Seller and Jill Furman, the producers of the 2008 Tony Award-winning Best Musical In The Heights, announced that Javier Munoz will take over the role of 'Usnavi' on Monday, February 16, 2009 at the Richard Rodgers Theatre (226 West 46th Street). Javier Munoz joined In The Heights for a reading in 2005 and has been involved ever since, in the ensemble and as understudy for ?Usnavi? at the O?Neill Theater Workshop and in the 2006 Off-Broadway and current Broadway productions. Lin-Manuel Miranda?s last performance will be Sunday February 15, 2009.

On Wednesday, Jan 14th following the 8 pm performance of IN THE HEIGHTS - Ghostlight Records and ITH hosted a 'Grammy Night' Talkback. 100 Grammy University students as well as the Grammy board came to see the show and talk with the Tony winning creative team. The IN THE HEIGHTS album is nominated this year in the Best Musical Show Album. Tony winner Lin-Manuel Miranda lead the talk along with Alex Lacaimore and Bill Sherman, also Tony winners for their work on the show. IN THE HEIGHTS opened to critical acclaim, going on to win four 2008 Tony Awards (Best Musical, Best Score, Best Choreography, Best Orchestrations), and garnering a 2008 Grammy Award nomination for the original cast album. In November, 2008, Universal Pictures acquired the rights to produce a feature film based on IN THE HEIGHTS. The news of a 2009 GRAMMY Nomination for Best Musical Show Album, for their double-CD release of 'In The Heights' (already a Tony Award Winner for Best Musical and Best Score,) capped a dominant year for Ghostlight Records.

IN THE HEIGHTS is the winner of four 2008 Tony Awards including Best Musical. Lin-Manuel Miranda won the 2008 Tony for Best Music and Lyrics, Andy Blankenbuehler won the 2008 Tony for Best Choreography, and Alex Lacamoire and Bill Sherman won the 2008 Tony Award for Best Orchestrations. The production recently welcomed new cast members Marcy Harriell and Rick Negron.

On Monday September 9th, the Northern Manhattan Arts Alliance (NoMAA) Artists' Salon presented 'A Conversation With' Junot Diaz, the 2008 Pulitzer Prize winning author of The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao and Lin-Manuel Miranda, actor/lyricist/composer of the 2008 Tony Award-Winner for Best Musical In the Heights.

On Tuesday, September 16th Barnes & Noble Lincoln Square store hosted performances and a CD signing by the cast of 2008 Tony Award-winning Best Musical In The Heights. The performance was followed by a CD signing. Barnes & Noble at Lincoln Square is located at 1972 Broadway at 66th Street.

Audience Rewards and The Drama Bookshop hosted an exclusive discussion and book signing with Charles Strouse, with very special guest interviewer Lin-Manuel Miranda, on Friday, September 5th, at the Drama Bookshop (250 West 40th Street, New York, NY.)

On Monday, August 11, Jim Caruso's Cast Party presented ExtravaGAINZA:The Songs Of Henry Gainza as part of the long-running, Nightlife Award-winning concert series Broadway at Birdland.

The President, Board of Governors & The Theatre/Drama Committee of The National Arts Club presented Lin-Manuel Miranda with a Gold Medal Presentation on June 2nd at the National Arts Club. Lin-Manuel Miranda is the Tony nominated star and creator of the hit Broadway production 'In The Heights. '

In the Heights star Priscilla Lopez had her caricature unveiled on April 2. Friends and co-stars were on hand as Lopez, the original Morales in A Chorus Line in 1976, received her honored place amongst the Sardi's walls.

Lin-Manuel Miranda and the cast of In The Heights will welcomed 130 Fidelity FutureStage students from Brooklyn's JHS 383K, Phillippa Schuyler and HS for Enterprise, Business & Technology and Manhattan East School for the Arts & Academics (in East Harlem) to performance of the new hit musical In The Heights and to a post-show talk back immediately following the matinee performance. Tickets to Broadway shows & talk-backs are just one of the many highlights of the landmark Fidelity FutureStage program.

This weekend, March 22 and 23, the cast of Broadway's 'In The Heights' laid-down tracks for their Original Cast Recording session at The Legacy Recording Studios (509 W 38th Street).
