The 2011 Tony Award nominees were announced live from the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts in New York City on Tuesday, May 3, 2011. Yesterday, the proud nominees gathered at the Millenium Hotel in Times Square to celebrate and meet the press. Broadway Beat was on hand, of course, to speak with all of the proud nominees. LOMBARDI to Close May 22

The producers of Broadway's LOMBARDI announced today that the show will play its final performance on Sunday May 22. Producers Fran Kirmser and Tony Ponturo said, 'LOMBARDI was a story that we wanted to tell and an idea that we believed in. We wanted to attract both an audience which had never set foot in a Broadway theatre, and to satisfy the traditional theatre goer. Vince Lombardi's remarkable life offered us the opportunity to assemble a cast made in heaven, and a creative dream team.'

On Saturday afternoon April 30 following LOMBARDI's matinee, star Dan Lauria will make history when he takes the podium at Radio City Music Hall to announce the Green Bay Packers' sixth round draft pick - in costume and in character. While teams have had former and current players make their selection, it is the first time that an actor will make a selection for a professional sports team during a draft. Lauria's portrayal of the legendary coach has been called 'compelling' and 'mesmerizing,' by Variety, and WOR Radio says that 'he nailed it.' The NFL made their own history with LOMBARDI, when they made their producing debut with the show, now the longest running play on Broadway.

Judith Light has received rave reviews for her performance as Marie Lombardi opposite Dan Lauria as the legendary football coach Vince Lombardi in the new Broadway play LOMBARDI. In honor of her performance and career, Light was presented with her Sardi's caricature yesterday, February 10. Lauria's Sardi's caricature was also brought out for the occasion. Former NY Giant Carl Banks To Sign Autographs At LOMBARDI 2/1

Former New York Giants linebacker Carl Banks will be signing autographs in the lower lobby of the Circle in the Square Theatre on Tuesday, February 1 from 6:30-7:00pm. The 1986 Vince Lombardi trophy that Banks and the rest of the 'Big Blue Wrecking Crew' helped to bring home to New York for their victory in Super Bowl XXI will also be on display from February 1 through Super Bowl Sunday on February 6, 2011. The lower lobby of the Circle in the Square Theatre is accessible to ticket-holders only.
