Lee Sunday Evans is a two-time Obie Award-winning Director + Choreographer and the Artistic Director of Waterwell.
With Waterwell, she directed The Courtroom, a reenactment of one woman’s deportation proceedings performed entirely from court transcripts arranged by Arian Moayed – this piece was named on The New York Times’ Best Theater of 2019 List. She also led the creation of The Flores Exhibits, a series of videos in which artists, advocates, lawyers and immigrants read testimony of children held in detention facilities at the U.S./Mexico Border.
