Sentimental stories of adults returning to their childhood homes to face the demons of the past after achieving success far, far away are a staple of popular entertainment, and though Ngozi Anyanwu's engaging contribution to the genre, The Homecoming Queen, adds nothing surprising, the elegant storytelling, packaged in director Awoye Timpo's superb production, contributes to a very fine theatrical venture.

Ngozi Anyanwu's The Homecoming Queen officially opened just last night at Atlantic Theater Company's Stage 2. The production, which is directed by Awoye Timpo, will play a limited engagement through Sunday, February 11, 2018.

Atlantic Theater Company presents the world premiere production of The Homecoming Queen, written by Ngozi Anyanwu and directed by Awoye Timpo. The Homecoming Queen begins previews Wednesday, January 10th, 2018 and will open Monday, January 22nd for a limited engagement through Sunday, February 11th, 2018 Off-Broadway at Atlantic Theater Company's Stage 2 (330 West 16th Street).
