Grease is a high-octane musical bursting with rock and roll energy, taking you back to the world of 1950s teenagers. Written by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey, it follows a group of greasers and Pink Ladies at Rydell High School as they navigate friendships, romance, and the pressures of fitting in.



The show is packed with iconic and catchy tunes like "Summer Nights," "Greased Lightnin'," and "We Go Together." The story centers around Danny and Sandy, a sweethearts reunited after a summer fling. Danny, the cool greaser leader, tries to impress Sandy by acting tougher than he is, while Sandy transforms from innocent newcomer to a Pink Lady to win Danny's heart. Through hilarious situations, catchy songs, and teenage drama, Grease explores themes of peer pressure, rebellion, and the enduring power of young love.

Broadway director and choreographer Jeff Calhoun will soon award the Jeff Calhoun Performing Arts Award to a senior at Pine-Richland High School. This is the sixth year that Calhoun, a 1978 graduate, will award a $5000 scholarship to a student who is planning to pursue a career in the performing arts and meets the scholarship criteria. Applications for this scholarship are due April 19, 2013.

Paper Mill Playhouse has just announced the full creative team behind its season opener, the premiere of a new Disney stage musical, Newsies. Featuring music by eight-time Academy Award®-winning composer Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast, Sister Act, The Little Mermaid), lyrics by Jack Feldman and a new book by four-time Tony® Award winner Harvey Fierstein (La Cage aux Folles, Torch Song Trilogy), Newsies is adapted for the stage from the 1992 live-action Disney feature film musical. The show begins performances on Thursday, September 15. The official press opening is scheduled for Sunday, September 25.

BB Promotion Mourns the Passing of Michael Brenner

Michael Brenner, producer and impresario, founder and managing partner of the Mannheim based BB Promotion GmbH, died in the early hours of Saturday, May 21, 2011 at the age of 59. He and his much-loved wife were on a bicycle tour when he was hit by a motorbike. He never recovered from his injuries.
