Due to an abbreviated rehearsal period with the show's full company, Second Stage Theatre (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director; Ellen Richard, Executive Director) will move the opening night of Richard Nelson's Some Americans Abroad to Thursday, July 24, to allow for a longer preview period.

Broadway in Bryant Park tomorrow has been postponed due to the pending inclement weather. They are rescheduling tomorrow's performance for the rain date of August 15th. The performance was to include the casts of The Lion King, Vanities, Hairspray, Forbidden Broadway and Godspel.
HAIRSPRAY Film Sequel Coming; Waters Writing Treatment

Variety reports that New Line Cinema has just made a deal with John Waters, Hairspray's creator to pen a treatment for a sequel to the hit film. Also set to return are director/choreographer Adam Shankman, the song-writing team of Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman, and producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron.

On Sunday, November 9, the 70th anniversary of Kristallnacht, and 75 years since Adolf Hitler's rise to power, the Museum of Jewish Heritage-A Living Memorial to the Holocaust, in association with Canada's Royal Conservatory of Music, will launch 'Music in Exile-Emigre Composers of the 1930s,' a five-day series of concerts, talks, and a music-theater piece celebrating the music of Jewish composers forced to flee the Third Reich and German composers who resisted the Nazi regime.
