Tune in to WABC Channel 7 this Sunday afternoon, December 1st for a special Broadway episode of the nationally syndicated program 'On The Red Carpet' featuring interviews with Tony Award nominees Charl Brown and Valisia LeKae, stars of the smash hit MOTOWN THE MUSICAL.

The 2013 theatre season brought some truly extraordinary productions, including Motown, which is still playing at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. The musical earned four Tony nominations.

Producers Kevin McCollum, Doug Morris and Berry Gordy have announced 'Makin' It Motown,' a nationwide open call casting search for African-American singers for both the Broadway production of MOTOWN THE MUSICAL and the upcoming national tour, with a rare opportunity to audition for this hit Broadway musical at the Actor's Theatre of Charlotte (650 E. Stonewall Street) in Charlotte, NC, today, November 9. The first national tour will launch in Chicago in April 2014 with Charlotte performance dates to be announced at a later date.

BROADWAY SESSIONS is described as an evening of musical performances, games and open mic featuring a new Broadway guest each week. The show is created and hosted by Ben Cameron (Bway Wicked, Aida and Footloose) and features musical director Joshua Stephen Kartes on piano. MOTOWN THE MUSICAL hosted First Lady Michelle Obama and her daughters Sasha and Malia at the matinee performance on Sunday, August 25, 2013. The Obama family was joined by poet Elizabeth Alexander (who composed and delivered "Praise Song for the Day" for the first inauguration of President Obama), and the party was greeted by a standing ovation upon recognition by the audience inside the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre.
