The Chicago Sinfonietta, the nation's most diverse orchestra, celebrates its 25th Anniversary Season, and its second under the leadership of Music Director Mei-Ann Chen, with five concerts that each highlight music's ability to connect people of different tastes, cultures and even hemispheres.

Chicago Dramatists, known for producing innovative and award-winning new work, is proud to announce its 34th season featuring three world premiere productions by its Resident Playwrights. Chicago Dramatists continues to nurture the city's most promising playwrights and to push the envelope with the newest plays, helping to advance Chicago's reputation as a leader in American theatre new play development. The season begins with Freshly Fallen Snow, September 20 - October 28, by Resident Playwright M.E.H. Lewis and directed by Associate Artistic Director Meghan Beals McCarthy. The first show of 2013 is Southbridge, January 24 - March 13, by Resident Playwright Reginald Edmund and directed by Artistic Director Russ Tutterow. The Chicago Dramatists' season concludes with Homecoming 1972, May 16 - June 23, by Resident Playwright Robert Koon and directed by Associate Artist Kimberly Senior.

Tacoma Musical Playhouse has announced the 19th season of musical theater in Tacoma. The 2012-2013 season will include six Broadway-style musicals on the TMP Mainstage and three family-friendly productions from the Tacoma Children's Musical Theater.

Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST) announced today that in addition to being among the 37 international companies who will come together for an unprecedented 37-play 'Globe to Globe' Festival for the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad on May 5 and 6, CST's commission, The Q Brothers' Othello: The Remix, will be Chicago Shakespeare's premiere appearance in Germany's Shakespeare im Globe Neuss Festival July 6 and 7 and return engagement at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, August 1-27, 2012 where Funk It Up About Nothin' won critical acclaim in 2009.

Broadway In Chicago recently announced the complete 2012-2013 season, bringing old favorites, as well as new ones to Chicagoan theater-goers. The League of Chicago Theatres announces the five finalists for the 2012 Broadway In Chicago Emerging Theater Award. This is the sixth year of the award, which provides $5,000, consultation with Broadway In Chicago staff members, and a marketing package that includes advertising support.

Broadway/San Diego - A Nederlander Presentation announces its 2012-13 Season today, which includes, for the first time, two shows launching their national tours in San Diego in the same season.

Anthony Freud, general director of Lyric Opera of Chicago, announced yesterday the repertoire, principal singers, conductors, directors, and designers for Lyric's 2012-13 season. This was Freud's first news conference since becoming Lyric's general director on Oct. 1, 2011. General Director Brian Dickie announced that he will step down as General Director of Chicago Opera Theater at the expiration of his contract in August of 2012, and will return home to London with his family.
