The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra has announced its 2024–25 London Season, performed at London’s most iconic venues: the Royal Albert Hall, Cadogan Hall, and the Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall.

Acclaimed Irish indie rock band Pillow Queens is diving into intoxicating feelings with punchy, cathartic track and official video 'Heavy Pour' out now ahead of their LP release on Friday, April 19. The band's triumphant third studio album Name Your Sorrow is due out April 19 and available for pre-order now. This June, Pillow Queens will perform live across the UK and will support Snow Patrol in Limerick, IR on July 12 ahead of their biggest show to date on July 13 at Dublin, Ireland's Iveagh Gardens. Watch the music video for the new song here!

Should you avoid seeing the show? For God’s sake, no. You will miss what is surely going to be one of the most talked about pieces of work in Houston’s theatrical history. Go see it, and make your own call whether you love or hate it. But don’t let them brainwash you into thinking this is only about love because it is also about repulsion, and that is okay. It is very much as if David Cronenberg and David Lynch made a movie, and Jim Henson designed the sex scenes.

Lyric Hammersmith Theatre has announced the full cast and creative team for the UK premiere of Alice Childress’ Wedding Band:  A Love/Hate Story in Black and White, directed by Stage Debut Award winner Monique Touko, who returns to the Lyric after the smash-hit production of School Girls; Or, The African Mean Girls Play.

Believe it or not, Summer is coming.  After we sneeze our way through a way-too-flowery Spring, we get to contemplate the joys of those little weekend getaways here and there, sneaking out of town to enjoy some solid artistry in friendly locales. 

Let’s face it, the world of theatre, at times, can be misogynistic. Even though we joke about the multitude of gay men that are involved in theatre, that does not mean it is exempt from the repercussions of “the patriarchy”. As a gay man myself, I understand this problem all too well, but here in Dayton, we have luckily had some incredibly impactful pieces that were not only led by women, but speak upon the experiences of womanhood.

When a successful theatre company presents a period musical they pray for a hit. With good actors, a witty script, great music, excellent direction, and clever choreography that can transport an entire audience back in time; Coachella Valley Repertory has compiled such a hit.

Last month, Alana Yorke announced details on her forthcoming debut LP, Destroyer (due May 17 on Paper Bag Records) in addition to sharing 'Marion', 'Tidal Wave' and 'Preludium.' Today, Yorke is sharing 'All the Flowers,' a song about loss and grief. Watch the video here!

Two new shows have been added to the 2024 Concert Season at Atlantic Union Bank After Hours at the SERVPRO Pavilion in Doswell, Virginia. Bryson Tiller, R&B singer and rapper, is coming on Saturday, June 8, 2024 and country pop singer, Elle King, performs on Sunday, June 23, 2024.

Welsh Singer-songwriter TOM JENKINS has shared the second part of his latest album ‘Meadow Part 2’. Released on 12th April 2024 via Xtra Mile Recordings, it is preceded by the lead single “Blame It”, which is available to hear now. 

Montreal goth-folk songwriter Ruby McKinnon, better known as Flower Face, makes her return with the dark and brooding “Cat’s Cradle.” Exploring the fine line between adoration and obsession, Flower Face’s hushed vocals dance amongst falling melodies from sullen strings and watery pianos.

Sia has unveiled an irresistible new song, “Incredible,” featuring fellow hit-maker and frequent collaborator Labrinth. The song follows “Dance Alone,” featuring Kylie, which was released last month. Both songs preview what’s to come from Sia’s first proper solo album in eight years, Reasonable Woman — due out May 3, 2024 via Atlantic Records.

Dear Readers, warning, I’m about to be a bit of a snob here. I know, big surprise. But I’m not the biggest fan of the musical, “Beetlejuice”, currently playing at the Paramount Theatre. I wasn’t a fan when I first heard the cast recording and now having seen it, I can’t say my opinion has changed all that much. A bit, but not much.

“Welcome to the show to the history remix.” Six: The Musical is unlike anything I have ever seen. The unique rock musical by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, reveals the lives of King Henry VIII’s six ex-wives is captivating from the minute the curtain drops to the final bows.
