The Academy of Vocal Arts (AVA) has unveiled details for BrAVA Philadelphia! in celebration of its historic 85th Anniversary. On Saturday, March 28, 2020, AVA will present BrAVA Philadelphia!, a spectacular concert of opera stars at 'The Met Philadelphia', the beautifully restored opera house on North Broad Street.

Sixty Restaurants Ready To Fire Up The Grills For 9th Annual Philadelphia Burger Brawl

Over 60 Philadelphia region restaurants will fire up the grills and battle for burger bragging rights at the 9th Annual Philadelphia Burger Brawl presented by Jim Beam. The grills come out and the gloves come off on Sunday, September 15, 2019, with VIP gates opening at 1:00pm and general admission opening at 2:00pm. The region's largest food competition will move to a larger new space and take over the Marine Parade Ground at Navy Yard Philadelphia. Attendees are invited to enjoy all-you-can-eat samples of the very best burger in Philadelphia and then vote for their favorite. Ardmore Restaurant Week, the popular two-week celebration of Downtown Ardmore's exciting and diverse dining scene, returns July 15 through July 28, 2019. Diners can experience a variety of cuisines from the Main Line's top chefs as they enjoy two-course lunch  menus for $10 and $15, and three-course dinner menus for $15, $25 and $35. Mural Arts Philadelphia Creates Philadelphia's First Augmented Reality Mural

After the culmination of a year-long partnership, Mural Arts Philadelphia has brought to life Philadelphia's first augmented reality mural. Dreams, Diaspora, and Destiny, created by artists Joshua Mays and King Britt, is the first partnership of its kind, connecting public and private high school youth to create a project in a community in which they cohabitate. Mays and Britt, two cutting-edge thinkers, have brought a multimedia sight and sound installation to the heart of West Philadelphia's Conestoga neighborhood. Dreams, Diaspora, and Destiny involved students from Haverford School and Mastery Shoemaker Charter School to imagine the possible futures of West Philadelphia. The project integrates art and technology through image recognition and the sounds of an original score, based on community interviews and youth-created sounds. Using a free app available on smartphones, created by Blue Design, viewers will see and hear the art come to life.
