ABC Announces Fall Premiere Dates for 2018-19 Season

Following a sold out 25th Anniversary World Tour and Greatest Hits release, Grammy nominated multi-platinum pop-rock trio HANSON is beginning their next 25 years with a musical project unmatched in their history, String Theory symphonic tour and album set to launch this summer and continue through Spring 2019.

The Paley Center for Media announced today that it will host its 12th annual PaleyFest Fall TV Previews September 6-16, 2018, at the Paley Center's Beverly Hills location. The ten-day festival celebrates the most anticipated new shows of the Fall 2018 television season as well as returning favorites from all five major broadcast networks, cable television, and premium streaming services. Each event includes screenings followed by star-studded discussions with the series cast and creatives.

On August 2, 2018, Young Audiences of Houston, in partnership with University of Houston Kathrine G. McGovern College of the Arts Dance Program, will launch the new Arts for Learning Lab (ALL). This academic certificate program will train professional artists entering the teaching artist field in a robust and immersive learning experience, consisting of 40 hours of comprehensive training designed to expand the artists' capacity to contribute effectively to student learning through arts integration for the K-12 classroom.

Carnegie Hall's Weill Music Institute (WMI) today announced the 2018-2019 grant recipients for PlayUSA, a program that supports a wide range of instrumental music education projects across the United States, all specifically designed to reach low-income and underserved students on a local level. For its fourth year, Carnegie Hall has selected 15 organizations, including 2 new partners, Buffalo String Works and MYCincinnati, for a total of $505,000 in grants. In addition to financial support, the grantees join a nationwide network of innovative organizations committed to providing transformative music education opportunities for youth across the country.

Navy Pier, Chicago's iconic lakefront destination, has partnered with EXPO CHICAGO, the International Exposition of Modern & Contemporary Art (September 27 - 30, 2018), to present a free, temporary public art installation in Polk Bros Park. From Saturday, July 28, 2018 through April 30, 2019, guests will have the unique opportunity to view and interact with This Land is Your Land, a stunning three-piece installation resembling water towers, created by New York-based Chilean artist Ivan Navarro and curated by Paul Kasmin Gallery.

According to American Theatre, Pittsburgh will be getting a new theatre downtown this fall, the Pittsburgh Playhouse. The new theatre will open on October 12 and will house the REP, a professional theatre company as well as a theatre for young audiences and the theatre and dance departments from Point Park University.

BET Networks and Paramount Players announced the top ten semifinalists of its nationwide competition,“PROJECT CRE8” that will give one aspiring, undiscovered filmmaker the potential opportunity to produce a feature film with a million-dollar budget. The search kicked-off at the Sundance Festival and after hundreds of submissions the contestants were narrowed down to the top ten. Each semifinalist was given $2,500 and tasked with producing a 3-5 minutes scene from their original screenplay in one month. Now viewers have the power to automatically advance an aspiring director to the final round by voting for their favorite scene. Just when you thought it was over, Primus announces a three glorious weeks of headlining dates this fall in support of their ninth studio album, The Desaturating Seven, out now on ATO Records.  The Desaturating Seven has brought Les Claypool (lead vocals, bass), Larry LaLonde (guitar) and Tim Alexander (drums) back to the sounds and styles of their earlier days. 'This record hearkens back to our prog roots-Rush, Yes, Crimson, all those things,' says Claypool. 'It's a little heavier than the last record, more intricate than anything we've done in a while.'
