TEN, The Gift Theatre's annual season kickoff celebration of ten 10-minute plays, returns January 9-19, 2014. This year's ten-minute play premieres by The Gift and guests were curated by artistic director Michael Patrick Thornton and associate artistic director Paul D'Addario. Steppenwolf for Young Adults has announced casting for the upcoming production of Leveling Up by Deborah Zoe Laufer. Hallie Gordon directs a cast featuring Carolyn Braver, Jerry MacKinnon, Clancy McCartney and JJ Phillips in this Chicago premiere. Leveling Up runs February 26 - March 15, 2014; the press performance is on March 1 at 11am. Performances at 10am are reserved for school groups only; public performances are scheduled March 7, 8, 14 and 15 at 7:30pm. Sundance Institute announced today the program of short films selected to screen at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival, January 16-26 in Park City, Salt Lake City, Ogden and Sundance, Utah. The 2014 Short Film program is comprised of 66 short films selected from a record 8,161 submissions (59 more than for the 2013 Festival).
