During a Monday night concert, June 28, at House of Blues, Sparks surprised the audience with a teaser of her performance to come, singing 'Breathe' from In The Heights.

This past weekend, Elaine Stritch performed her 'Singin' Sondheim' cabaret in West Hartford, CT. As reported by the Hartford Courant, the A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC-bound star was simultaneously in private rehearsals with director Trevor Nunn. According to the report, Stritch and Peters were in New York working on scenes with Nunn, who then rode to Hartford with Stritch to continue discussions over the two-hour car ride. They continued work at the Roberts Theatre, the same space Stritch performed 'Singin' Sondheim' that evening. Jeremy Cohen, associate artistic director of Hartford Stage, is quoted as saying that watching Stritch and Nunn 'was like [being] a kid in a candy shop ... He's definitely an actor's director and listening them talk about Sondheim was incredible. It's as if they had been working together for decades because they spoke in the common vocabulary of Sondheim.'

Famed director/designer Isaac Mizrahi will direct the upcoming production of A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC at the Opera Theatre in St. Louis. The production will run June 6th through 19th at the Opera Theatre and will feature conductor Stephen Lord. NIGHT MUSIC was written by Hugh Wheeler and features a score by Stephen Sondheim.

Last night, June 16, Matthew Morrison joined British singer, Leona Lewis in a duet of 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow' at her London concert. Click below to hear their rendition. The U.K. Mirror is reporting that Leona Lewis has landed a guest spot on GLEE next season. GLEE's Matthew Morrison, Chris Colfer, Amber Riley and Kevin McHale, among others, are currently in London promoting the show. According to Deadline.com Award winning playwright Kwame Kwei-Armah is working on a script for a biopic about 1970s soccer star Laurie Cunningham. The film is entitled 'Black Flash.' Cunningham was the first English player to join Real Madrid, the most successful soccer team from Spain. Cunningham was also the first black player to represent England at any level (under 21), and the first to represent the full England side in a competitive match, although Viv Anderson had appeared in a friendly before him to be recognised as the nation's first black full international.
