The 6th Annual Wonderful World Awards presented by Beth Israel Medical Center's Louis Armstrong Center for Music and Medicine will honor physician Marvin A. McMillen, MD, legendary musician Levon Helm, and guitarist and Beth Israel patient Andrew Schulman, announced Joanne V. Loewy, DA, MT-BC, LCAT, Director, Louis Armstrong Center for Music & Medicine.

Paul A. Schaefer, Kyle Barisich and Elizabeth Welch, members of the Broadway cast of 'Phantom of the Opera,' will be the opening act at The Louis Armstrong Center for Music & Medicine's 2011 What A Wonderful World Award to be held at Beth Israel Medical Center on Monday, September 19, 2011. Honorees include music legend and actor Levon Helm, Dr. Marvin McMillen, and classical guitarist and Beth Israel patient and volunteer Andrew Schulman.

To mark its 25th Anniversary year, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Cameron Mackintosh present 'The Phantom of the Opera' in a fully-staged, lavish production, set in the sumptuous Victorian splendour of the Royal Albert Hall with a cast and orchestra of over 200. Now audiences around the world are invited to join the celebration on Sunday October 2nd when the event is beamed live via satellite to cinemas across the globe. 25 years after Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman opened the show in London, a box set celebrating the show's anniversary is being prepped for release.

George Lee Andrews holds the Guinness World Record for the longest run in the same Broadway show in history for Phantom of the Opera. He was in the Broadway company when the production opened in 1988, is still in the current cast. He has been playing the role of André since 2000, having played Firmin for the preceding decade. While most Broadway shows are 'dark' on Mondays (serving as the company's day off), MAMMA MIA!, ROCK OF AGES, PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT, CHICAGO and GHETTO KLOWN do regularly perform on Mondays along with PHANTOM, however are celebrating an altered schedule this week to accommodate the holiday.
