An all-star cast of Broadway favorites is set to lead a one-night only concert of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's Into the Woods in New York City.

The 5th Avenue Theatre is announcing a change in its 2019/20 season lineup. The world premiere of an original new musical, Bliss, will replace the previously announced Stu for Silverton in early 2020. Producing Artistic Director Bill Berry said, "Even though we do not like to make changes after we have announced our season, we are very proud of the hundreds of thousands of audience members who come to The 5th each year and understand that this is sometimes part of the process of being one of the leading theaters in the country producing new musicals."

Coeurage Theatre Company, LA's Pay What You Want theatre company, has announced the second production of its 10th Anniversary season, the West Coast premiere of Sucker Punch by Roy Williams, directed by Michael A. Shepperd. Opening is set for Tuesday, June 4, at 8pm. Sucker Punch will play through June 23 only at the Tiger Boxing Gym in West Hollywood.

Producer Kevin McCollum announced today that the new musical, Mrs. Doubtfire, will premiere at Seattle's 5th Avenue Theatre this fall on route to Broadway.  The musical features a book Karey Kirkpatrick and John O'Farrell and music and lyrics by Wayne Kirkpatrick and Karey Kirkpatrick, the Tony Award nominated team behind Something Rotten!  Four-time Tony Award winner Jerry Zaks (Hello, Dolly!) will direct and Lorin Latarro (Waitress) will choreograph.  Ethan Popp (Tina) will serve as Music Supervisor.

Broadway Veteran, Estonians, and an Irishman, team up to bring the legendary story of the Singing Revolution to the New York theatre community. The production is initiated by an American director/choreographer, Tony Spinosa, and Irish co-book writer, James Bearhart. Vineyard Theatre announces that Tony Award winner Leslie Odom, Jr. (HAMILTON), Tony Award nominee Sarah Stiles (TOOTSIE), Ngozi Anyanwu (GOOD GRIEF), and Kathryn Erbe ('Law & Order: Criminal Intent'), and DJ Crystal Clear will join the line-up of stars set for the company's 2019 Gala fundraiser celebrating Tony, Olivier, Drama Desk, and Drama League Award nominated artist and Vineyard Board Member, Colman Domingo.

In 2013, Gregory Crafts wrote a short (but epic) superhero script about M-Pulse, the Eminence of Electromagnetism, to be mounted as part of the Theatre Unleashed show Play/Time. A couple years later, M-Pulse's story went to the inaugural Short + Sweet 10-Minute Play Festival in Hollywood and not long after, it expanded­--along with M-Pulse's universe--as part of Serial Killers with Sacred Fools.

In anticipation of opening night of Theatre Calgary's production of Billy Elliot, I sat down with Dance Captain Amber Bissonnette to talk about her career and life as a dancer. 'I got started in dance when I was five. My second cousin's mom owned a dance studio and my mom and my sister had just moved to Edmonton - where I'm from - and she was looking for a way to keep us busy. I started singing and acting when I was about thirteen and it was all downhill from there.'

This one-night only reunion starred original cast members Hunter Bell, Susan Blackwell, Heidi Blickenstaff and Jeff Bowen along with musical director Larry Pressgrove.
