Tom Stoppard's genre-bending comedy, Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead comes to the Huntington Theatre Company helmed by Norma Jean Calderwood Artistic Director Peter DuBois. Performances began September 20 at the Avenue of the Arts / Huntington Avenue Theatre (264 Huntington Avenue, Boston) and will run through October 20. Tickets are now on sale to the general public.

Main Street Theater (MST) has extended its 44th Season opening production, Tom Stoppard's newest play, The Hard Problem, through October 13. MST and Executive Artistic Director Rebecca Greene Udden have long been the go-to source for Stoppard's plays for Houston, for Texas, and even the nation (MST's production of The Coast of Utopia trilogy drew audiences from across the U.S.). It's fitting, then, that MST would produce the Regional Premiere of Stoppard's latest work. 

Italian Classical Crossover Tenor Jonathan Cilia Faro's debut U.S. concert will be held on October 14th at Masonic Temple in New York. The concert will be the first time in the Masonic Temple's history that it will be open to the general public for an artist to perform with a band. The Music Director will be Bill Heller with Dave Anderson, bass, Russ DeSalvo, guitar; John Arrucci, percussion and special guest singer, Jonathan Heller.

John Calvin Abney is set to return with his self-produced LP Safe Passage on Tulsa's Black Mesa Records next Friday, September 27. Originally announced via Wide Open Country with a premiere of lead single 'Turn Again,' Safe Passage follows 2018's Coyote, which Rolling Stone Country called “dreamy folk with a good balance of sadness and sunshine.” For the new record, Abney tapped an impressive set of musicians for his studio band: fellow Tulsa Americana artist John Moreland, Shonna Tucker (John Paul White, Drive-by Truckers), Will Johnson (Centro-matic, Monsters of Folk), violinist/vocalist Megan Palmer, David Leach (John Fullbright, Jason Eady), and drummer Bryan McGrath. Together they bring to life songs that tend to look for light in the face of tragedy, worry, or self-imposed struggle. Songs such as album opener, 'I Just Want To Feel Good,' which premiered at The Bluegrass Situation this week. Abney offered, 'This song was written in a short 20-minute nova of inspiration. I had a nagging cold while up at altitude, staying in a cabin by myself in Colorado, and dodging my troubles through travel and wine. I grew tired of being a people pleaser in order to dodge conflict (the real superficial kind) and was chasing the shadow of happiness in the wake of the real thing.'

Arcola Theatre in association with DOT Theatre today announce the full company for the London première of multi-award-winning writer Zinnie Harris' Meet Me at Dawn. Murat Daltaban directs Jessica Hardwick (Helen) and Marianne Oldham (Robyn). Meet Me at Dawn, which draws on the legend of Orpheus and Eurydice in this gripping tale of devotion and loss, opens on 16 October, with previews from 9 October and runs until 9 November.

The Ellen Theatre presents ERIC FUNK - WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM MY FRIENDS. Featuring world-class composer Eric Funk, over 40 regional musicians perform some of The Beatles' greatest hits, including  a?oeHey, Judea??, a?oeLet it Bea??, a?oeNorwegian Wooda??, and many more. In celebration of The Ellen's 100th anniversary, all of the musicians are donating their time and talents for this fundraiser, with 100% of ticket sales going to the theatre. Eric Funk - With a Little Help from My Friends takes place Saturday, October 5 at 3 PM. Tickets are $44.50 for adults, and $37.50 for MSU students.

The Hackensack Performing Arts Center (HACPAC) has announced the third annual PAC the House Series featuring concerts by popular artists including Valerie Simpson, Donnie McClurkin, Gregorio Uribe, James Maddock, and Bria Skonberg. Ticket prices range from $40.00 to $60.00 with special series pricing available.

The State Theatre continues its music series, Stage on Stage, where the bands and fans share the stage. The series returns on Friday, October 4th with Dave Goddess Group along with Cunningham & Associates. The State Theatre main stage will be transformed into a a?oecluba?? atmosphere, with the band and the audience both on stage. Cash bar will also be available on stage.

On September 13, Hailey Whitters will release The Days, the first half of her highly anticipated full-length album The Dream that will be released next year.
