Mercer County Community College to Stage SHREK THE MUSICAL, 5/30-6/8

Everyone's favorite ogre comes to Mercer County Community College's Kelsey Theatre when the award-winning Maurer Productions OnStage (MPO) presents 'Shrek the Musical,' a song-and-dance-filled adaptation of the Oscar-winning DreamWorks animated film. Dates and times for this special family event are: Fridays, May 30 and June 6 at 8 p.m.; Saturdays, May 31 and June 7 at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.; and Sundays, June 1 and 8 at 2 p.m. A reception with the cast and crew will follow the opening night performance on May 30.

Rover Dramawerks will present the award-winning World War II drama WRENS by Anne McGravie at their new theatre venue in Plano, located in Ruisseau Village at 221 W. Parker Rd, Suite 580, at the northwest corner of Parker and 75. Performances are May 15 - June 7, with shows on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m., plus an additional matinee performance on Saturday, May 24 at 2:00 p.m.

Cynthia King Dance Studio will host a Brooklyn-Queens Day Dance-a-thon on Thursday, June 5 from 12:00-4:00 PM. The free event for both children and adults will feature a photo booth with costumes and a chance for dancers to mark their footprints on the CKDS Walk of Fame. Faculty members will lead dances in Hip Hop, African, Contemporary, and Breakdancing as they build up to a Brooklyn-style Dance-Off with prizes. The Brooklyn-Queens Day Dance-a-thon takes place at the new Cynthia King Dance Studio Flatbush location at 21 Snyder Avenue, between Flatbush and Bedford Avenues.
