Recovery Boys is an intimate look at the strength, brotherhood, and courage it takes to overcome addiction and lays bare the internal conflict of recovery. In an effort to break the cycle of generational addiction and trauma, four young men let go of painful pasts as they live in the present and build a new community in a farming-based rehab. After rehab, they experience life's trials and tribulations sober but struggle to find their place and purpose in an often-unforgiving society. In today's world, where shocking statistics about the opioid crisis make headlines daily, Recovery Boys offers a deeply personal look into the unseen lives of those working toward transformation.

At first blush, it would be easy to say that there's not much action packed into Annie Baker's The Flick - now onstage in a noteworthy production from Nashville's Verge Theater Company at Belmont's Black Box Theater - but that is, in fact, a pretty simplistic take on a story that is as complex and as diverting as real life itself. And just like life, Baker's Pulitzer Prize-winning script packs a whole lot of drama into its storyline, which is brought to life by a superb cast of actors under the direction of Jaclyn Jutting.

A shocking political reversal has found Americans facing headlines filled with divisive rhetoric while polarized citizens passionately debate the issues of the day. In Times Unseen, a long-term performance workshop series at The Marsh spearheaded by solo director maestro David Ford, the interaction of the political and the personal in times of great change is chronicled onstage. Initiated in 2017 in response to the presidential election, Times Unseen spotlights performers from disparate social, geographical, and political backgrounds, who share their raw, honest, and American experiences. Monthly showcases will culminate in a festival of work in October 2018, just in time for the midterm elections. Times Unseen performers will present their works in progress 7:30pm Monday, June 4 and in collaboration with Stagebridge 7:30pm Tuesday, June 12. Both performances will be staged at The Marsh Berkeley, 2120 Allston Way, Berkeley. Rivendell Announces Extension of THE CAKE

Rivendell Theatre Ensemble (RTE), Chicago's only Equity theatre dedicated to producing new work with women at the core will add four performances to the run The Cake by Bekah Brunstetter, directed by Lauren Shouse, and featuring RTE Founders Tara Mallen and Keith Kupferer, RTE Member Krystel McNeil, with Tuckie White. Eight performances have been added to the run, which must close June 2, 2018 at Rivendell Theatre Ensemble, 5779 N. Ridge Avenue in Chicago.

Organized by Frist Art Museum chief curator Mark Scala, the exhibition will be on view in the Museum's Ingram Gallery from June 22 through September 16, 2018.
