Berkeley Rep Announces Winning Teen Playwrights

The Teen Council at Berkeley Repertory Theatre announced the winners of its annual Target ® Teen One Acts Festival. The winning scripts for 2008 are Perfect Score by 17-year-old Katie Henry of Berkeley and El Soldado by 17-year-old Roxie Perkins of Albany. Now in its sixth year, the Festival is a celebration of teen theatre that unites the talents of youth from throughout the Bay Area. The event is produced entirely by teens and hosted by Berkeley Rep's School of Theatre.

Greasy Joan and Co. has taken on a huge undertaking by bringing Moliere's The Misanthrope to the stage at the Athenaeum Theatre. Billed as Moliere's 'comic masterpiece' the play is translated from its original script which in itself leaves the door open for the expression 'gets lost in the translation.'
American Conservatory Theater Casting for 'Wendy Play'

American Conservatory Theater conservatory director Melissa Smith and Young Conservatory director Craig Slaight announced casting today for the world premiere production of playwright Amy Herzog's The Wendy Play. Directed by A.C.T. associate artist Domenique Lozano, the production features actors from the graduating class of the Master of Fine Arts Program as well as from the Young Conservatory. Rainbow Kiss starts with a kiss and ends in blood.
