The Theater Project Now Accepting Submissions for Short Play Festival

The Theater Project, an award-winning, professional theater in Maplewood, NJ, is now soliciting short plays for THINK FAST!, its third annual short play competition which performs for the public in February, 2016. The contest is open to adult playwrights in the New Jersey-New York area.

Happy Birthday Jerry Orbach! Jerry Orbach, best known for his starring role as wisecracking Detective Lennie Briscoe in the long-running television series 'Law & Order,' was also an accomplished Tony Award-winning Broadway and Off-Broadway actor. His theatre career began in 1960 as El Gallo in the original Off-Broadway production of The Fantasticks. He later went on to star on Broadway in such musicals as 42nd Street, Chicago (Tony Award nomination), Guys and Dolls (Tony Award nomination) and Promises, Promises which earned him the 1969 Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical.

THE WHITE CASTLE by ANDERSON JOHN HEINZ has been selected from nearly 1,500 submissions to be a finalist in the Samuel French's 40h Annual Off Off Broadway Short Play Festival (OOB) in New York City this summer. THE WHITE CASTLE is produced by SARA DEVINEY AND SAMUEL FRENCH OFF OFF BROADWAY SHORT PLAY FESTIVAL and will be presented on August 4th at the East 13th Street Theater (Classic Stage Company, 136 East 13th Street, NYC). THE WHITE CASTLE is one of 30 plays presented during the week-long event. At the end of which, Samuel French's editorial staff will select six titles for publication and licensing.
