Bay Street Theatre, a not-for-profit professional regional theatre located in the Hamptons on the Long Wharf in Sag Harbor, recently announced its revised 2008 Target Mainstage Season and special performances by Betty Buckley over Memorial Day Weekend May 23, 24 and 25.

North Shore Music Theater's (NSMT) award-winning Youth Performance Academy will take audiences on an adventure that lasts a whole year with the lovable Frog and Toad in A YEAR WITH FROG AND TOAD. Performances of A YEAR WITH FROG AND TOAD will be on the NSMT main stage on April 12th at 10am and 1pm.

There will be access performances for the smash hit award-winning musical 'HAIRSPRAY' on 3, 10 and 17 April.

Village Theatre KIDSTAGE Ensemble produces You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown, running April 10-20, 2008 at the Everett Performing Arts Center. Based on the classic Charles M. Schultz's Peanuts comic strip, this award-winning musical is told through a series of songs and vignettes that mimic the four-panel format used by the original cartoon strip. The KIDSTAGE production is based on the 1999 revival of the musical which received two Tony Awards. The revival version of the show has been updated and re-orchestrated since the original production; it has challenging four part harmonies and contemporary pop rhythms.

Ground UP Productions (Kate Middleton and Matt Olin, producers), fresh from presenting the critically acclaimed musical THE PEOPLE vs. MONA, presents the World Premiere of the new play THE OPTIMIST, by Jason Chimonides and directed by acclaimed director Jace Alexander. Previews of THE OPTIMIST begin March 20 prior to an official press opening of March 26 at the Abingdon Theater (312 West 36th Street, between 8th and 9th Avenues) in Manhattan.

Manhattan Theatre Club's production of Itamar Moses' THE FOUR OF US officially opens tonight, Tuesday, March 25 at New York City Center - Stage II (131 West 55th Street). The production began previews on Thursday, March 6.

The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation has awarded $250,000 to L.A. Theatre Works to support The Play's the Thing for Higher Education.
