Beaty's 'Emergency' Premieres at Geffen

Daniel Beaty is a Yale graduate, an activist, a classically trained musician, an award-winning actor and playwright, a slam poet champion … and most importantly, he's coming soon to a theater near you. The West Coast premiere of Beaty's acclaimed one-man show Emergency, which won the 2007 Obie Award for Outstanding Writing and Performance, opens at the Geffen Playhouse on April 23 helmed by award-winning director Charles Randolph-Wright.

Premiere of 'Pazzazzo' at Grand Performing Arts Center

The world premiere of the supercalifragilistic new original full-scale musical production of Pazzazzo will open at Santa Barbara's Grand New Performing Arts Center on June 21st. The production will star Dale Kristien, Adam Wylie and Alan Rachins with words and music by Milt Larsen and Oscar winning composer Richard M. Sherman (Mary Poppins, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang).

Stars of The Little Mermaid, Mary Poppins and The Lion King appeared in Times Square to introduce the Disney on Broadway Grayline tourist buses. Disney on Broadway stars Sierra Boggess (Ariel in The Little Mermaid), Ashley Brown (Mary Poppins in Mary Poppins) and Tshidi Manye (Rafiki in The Lion King) took photos with the Grayline tourist buses designed in their characters' images.

Halfway Home Productions (J. William Bruce, Artistic Director) is pleased to announce its latest project, Avarice. Featuring a mixture of rock, country, gospel, and R & B music, Avarice tells the tale of four friends living in New York City. The story begins as the group of friends struggle with adulthood and their impending future. Over the course of nine months they soon discover that the bond that was formed at eighteen may not be enough to overcome the obstacles they are about to face. Throughout their journey they begin to question many things about not only life but themselves as well. Avarice will have its NYC premiere reading on April 17th at the Snapple Theatre, which is located at 210 W. 50th, 4th Floor, between Broadway and 8th Avenue in New York City. Shows begin at 6:30pm. Additional performance is April 18th. To make reservations please call (212) 875-7693. Seating is limited to 70 so we recommend that you make your reservation in advance.
