Original 'Phantom' star Michael Crawford couldn't make it to last night's mega-celebration for The Phantom of the Opera's 25th Anniversary in New York last night, BUT the Tony-winner was certainly well-represented in his absence, with hordes of screaming fans in attendance, on-screen and on-stage mentions from the creative team and former co-star Sarah Brightman, and a letter he sent, read by the legendary Hal Prince.

Much of the Phantom family will reunite for this special event, and the current cast will also be a big part of the festivities. Mr. Jöback will assume the title role for a limited engagement from Monday, April 29 through Saturday, August 24, 2012.

Even now - in its incredible 25th year on Broadway - it is consistently among Broadway's highest-grossing shows and remains a box office champ. Earlier this year, the production shattered the house record at The Majestic by having its best weekly gross in its entire 24-year history. Total attendance is now over 15 million and it continues to play with no end in sight. Producers today announced an online sweepstakes to give PHANTOM 'Phans' the chance to be part of the historic night's invitation-only performance. While many of the evening's details are being kept under wraps, the special night will begin with an early 6:30 PM performance at The Majestic Theatre (247 West 44th Street), the musical's home for its entire run.

As many families in New Jersey continue to struggle with the aftermath of super storm Sandy, Bridge Studio for the Performing Arts is raising money for Sandy relief. Tonight, December 8th at 7pm, the Bridge Studio for the Performing Arts Benefit Concert will donate 100% of all money raised to those affected by the storm.
