Matilda: The Musical , will play from December 5-29 at the Historic Bangor Opera House. This classic Roald Dahl tale of a young girl in pursuit of the definition of family is sure to fill the bill for those who have made the PTC Holiday production one of their family traditions. For those looking for a night out without the kids, Penobscot Theatre Company will also offer a ridiculous, fully-improvised holiday shenanigan called A Kick In Your Dickens from December 12-29.

The Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts and Disney Theatrical Productions announced today that tickets for the long-awaited Orlando engagement of Disney's Aladdin go on sale to the public today, Friday, September 13 at 10 a.m. The hit Broadway musical will begin performances in Orlando at the Dr. Phillips Center on Wednesday, January 22 for a limited engagement of three weeks through Sunday, February 9, 2020. The opening night is Thursday, January 23 at 8 p.m.

Disney Theatrical Productions and the Providence Performing Arts Center (PPAC) announced today that tickets for the long-awaited engagement of Disney's ALADDIN will go on sale to the public on Monday, September 9 at 10A. The hit Broadway musical will begin performances in Providence at the Providence Performing Arts Center on Tuesday, October 29 for a limited two-week engagement through Sunday, November 10. The opening night is Wednesday, October 30 at 7P. In Providence, ALADDIN is part of the Taco/White Family Foundation Broadway Series.

This morning, The Black Keys debut a live version of “Go,” the second single off their ninth studio album “Let's Rock,” (Easy Eye Sound/Nonesuch Records), via Rolling Stone. For the performance they are joined by their touring band, Andrew Gabbard and Delicate Steve on guitar, and Zachary Gabbard on bass. The video, taped at a recent rehearsal in front of a small audience made up of members of the band's fan club, provides a behind-the-scenes look and a preview of their upcoming “Let's Rock” tour, which kicks off on September 23 at Denver's Pepsi Center. Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler's "Sweeney Todd, the Demon Barber of Fleet Street" is arguably a masterpiece of American Musical Theatre. It's haunting, thrilling, and heartbreaking when it's done right. But in order to do it right you need to understand and be able to convey this complex story and characters as well as sing some quite difficult music. Unfortunately, the current gender bent production from Reboot Theatre Company chose to forsake that story for comedy and sight gags leaving a confused, under baked, sloppy mess.
